Spinach Moong Dal Idlis.

Ingredients:

Moong Dal – 206gm
Spinach – 7.51 gm
Oil – 8.4 gm
Salt – 5 gm
Red chili – 0.493 gm
Baking soda – 1.25gm

Energy: 314 kcal
Protein: 16.28 gms

Method:

  • Soak yellow moong dal for 5-6 hours. Blend the dal in a blender to make puree.
  • Blanch the spinach and make puree.
  • In a bowl add spinach puree and moong dal puree. Add the above spices.
  • Make a thick paste, adjust the consistency with water. Batter should not be too flowy like a chill batter.
  • Take the idli mold, grease the mold. Just before pouring the batter add baking soda to the batter.
  • Steam the idli’s for 12 minutes on low flame.
  • Serve hot with sambar or mint chutney.
