Chicken & Oats Galouti Kabab

Ingredients:

  • Chicken minced- 400 gm
  • Oats -3 tbsp
  • Semolina – 2 tbsp
  • Black pepper powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds or jeera – 1 tsp
  • Crushed red chilli – 2 tsp
  • Salt or to taste
  • Bell pepper chopped – 1 whole
  • Onion chopped – 1 big
  • Carrot chopped – 1 medium
  • Tomato chopped – 1 whole
  • Garlic cloves – 3
  • Ginger – 1 small pc
  • Egg – 1 whole
  • Oil – 15ml

Method:

  1. Start by adding carrot, bell pepper, onion, garlic, ginger in a chopper and chop coarsely.
  2. Chop tomato and onions coarsely and separately.
  3. In a bowl, add minced chicken, oats, chopped vegetables and tomatoes and onions.
  4. Add all the seasoning, beaten egg and semolina.
  5. Mix all the ingredients and cover it. Leave it for 5 to 10 minutes.
  6. Line a tray with butter paper or wax sheet and coat it with oil.
  7. Drop heaped tablespoons of the mixture on the wax sheet 2 inches apart
  8. Put oil on the back of a spoon or your finger and flatten the mixture to form kebabs.
  9. Freeze them for half an hour or until firm. Shallow fry the kebabs in a non-stick fry pan at medium flame until the edges turn brown or bake it in an over at 180°C for 15 mins or until brown.
  10. Serve hot with any dip of your choice.
